Drugs and Alcohol

Advice on Drug and Alcohol Policies
A further service to business
Another initiative that operates up to the present day is the development of an advisory service to local firms about their drugs and alcohol policy for employees. Over the years, dozens of South Yorkshire based companies have attended seminars and received one-to-one support from People United Against Crime regarding the introduction or updating of a drug and alcohol policy for the workplace. Companies receive support in developing their drug and alcohol policy and training for the supervisory staff who will be expected to implement or enforce the policy.
Licensees National Drugs Certificate
Launched in 2002 this popular course is still in demand from licensees in 2011. Research shows that over 70% of illegal drugs are bought on pub or club premises. Therefore, no matter how vigilant a licensee may be there is a danger that drugs sales or drug use can happen on their premises. The one day course was developed through a partnership between Sheffield Licence Watch and Sheffield College. Course content include drugs awareness training and the law related to the misuse and supply of drugs. Further Topics include advice on the development of policies and strategies to prevent drugs entering licensed premises.
